When does the book ship?
November 3, 2026. Every order placed before that date is a pre-order and is held until release day, then shipped in the order received.
What is the difference between the editions?
Every edition contains the complete 234-page, full-color story.
- The Collector's Edition is a hardcover: jacketed, with an exclusive bookmark. The first 500 copies are signed by the author.
- The standard hardcover has a durable case-laminate keepsake.
- The standard paperback is available with full color illustrations.
- The E-Book is optimized for tablets.
Are the first 500 really signed?
Yes. The first 500 Collector's editions are signed and numbered by Dr. LaRoche. They are allocated in order of pre-order. Once the 500 are claimed the collector's edition remains available unsigned.
What age is this book for?
Ages 9 to 12, grades 4 to 7. It also reads well aloud for families and works for reluctant readers, because it is fully illustrated in full color throughout.
Is this a true story?
It is fiction rooted in real research. Dr. LaRoche is one of the world's leading archaeological experts on the Underground Railroad, and the places, events and history the characters travel into are drawn from decades of excavation and scholarship.
Is there more than one book?
This is Book One.
When will I be charged?
